I trekked to a less explored fort in the Karjat region that is Songiri Fort and it became an unforgettable trek in my life. From this fort, I could see more than 12 forts, peaks, and famous places and I was able to connect myself as I had trekked almost all of them. In this photo, you can see the northwest view from Songiri fort.
The nearest place is Sondai Fort and on Karjat Chauk road, Wawarle village is the base village to trek, Sondai Fort. Behind that is the Matheran which is a famous tourist attraction and just behind Matheran is the Peb Fort or Vikatgad. The Peb Fort trek can be done via Anandwadi village or the Matheran train route.
After that, the plateau behind Matheran to the left is Prabalgad, and right next to is the Kalavantin Durg but the peak is not visible in the photo. The Prabalgad Fort trek can be done via Thakurwadi village. More towards the left you can see Irshalgad Fort as it can be seen from a distance due to its unique shape. The trek can be done from Manivali village near Morbe dam at Chowk on Mumbai-Pune old highway.

I started trekking in the Sahyadri mountains in 2017 and one thing I realized with great excitement is that there are many such places for tourism in Sahyadri. The Sahyadri has many hills, forts, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, forests, wildlife sanctuaries, etc. which are or can be excellent tourist destinations, so all that is needed is to share the information related to treks and tourist places in the Sahyadri mountains to reach all the peoples out there.
With that, I am also an enthusiast who wants to do treks and travel all over India.
This is a small attempt to present to you my exploration of the Sahyadri mountains and India.
