Religious Pravasi Series - Birla Ganapati Temple, Pune
Surrounded by natural beauty and greenery, Birla Ganpati Temple in Pune attracts numerous devotees. We will take the information about this place in the Religious Pravasi series.
Early in the morning, we started from Pune to Dehu road and from there we came to the Somatane toll plaza on the old Mumbai Pune highway.

This place is about 30 km from Pune. From here you will see a magnificent idol of Bappa. This is Birla Ganapati Temple.

From Tollnaka we took the road leading to Pratishirdi, Shirgaon.

After half a km on this road, there is a path on the left side. The route is wide enough for four-wheelers in both directions.

There is a parking facility at the base of the temple.

After entering through the gate, one has to climb about 180 steps to reach Bappa.

A 72 feet tall idol of Bappa standing on the 18 feet high and 54 feet long Chaurang.

Birla Ganpati Temple |
It took 2 years to make the 1000-ton idol and was created by sculptors Mathuram Verma and Naresh Verma. The idol was installed by Sarala Birla on 17 January 2009 by Jayashree Charity Trust.

Hundreds of devotees from Pune and nearby places come here every day to seek the blessings of Bappa. The view from the top can mesmerize the tourists and the peace of mind that the tourists are looking for will definitely be found here.

You can come here anytime. The Ganapati temple area has been beautified.

A short trek from the nearby Begdewadi railway station can be done first to Ghoravadeshwar Caves and then to Birla Ganapati.

And if you have time you can also visit Pratishirdi, Shirgaon which is 2 km from here. I sat looking at Bappa's magnificent form for some time and then started my return journey.
