"Padmavati Temple - Rajgad Fort"
Religious Pravasi Series - Fort and its Village Deities

Impregnable Balekilla, characteristic fortifications, 'Nedhe' a naturally formed hole in the rock, vast Machi stretching in three directions, and much more.

"King of Forts and Fort of Kings", Fort Rajgad.

Most of the tourists visit the fort from the two villages of Gunjwane and Pali. From Gunjwane village you can choose either Chor Darwaza or Gunjwane Darwaza route. Through Chor Darwaza, we reach the fort directly to Padmavati Machi. There is a temple of Goddess Padmavati on the Machi. Padmavati Machi is named after the temple of Goddess Padmavati and a small lake of the same name is also nearby. It is said that the Padmavati temple was established by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj after naming the Murumbadev Fort as Rajgad. A clean tank of potable water is also adjacent to the temple. Apart from that, there are Rameshwar Temple, Sadar, Rajwada, and ruins of Kacheri, Darukhana, Ambarkhana, and Maharani Saibai's Samadhi on Machi.
